Owatonna Foundation Grant Initiated by Owatonna Gun Club — April 2024

Mission Statement The mission of the Owatonna Gun Club is to provide a safe shooting facility for people of all ages to become comfortable and competent in the safe use of firearms. We primarily serve shooters in southern Minnesota and northern Iowa, and we also welcome participants from across the Midwest.

Service Information Recap (2020–2025)

  • High School Clay Target Programs

    • For the past seven years the Owatonna Gun Club has hosted high school clay target athletes from 3–4 schools for spring competition and fall skills-based leagues.

    • Combined student-athlete headcount serviced: approximately 200 per year.

  • High School Invitational Shoots (6–12 grade)

    • Hosted annually for the past four years; trophies awarded to the top male and female participants across grades 6–12.

    • Attendance by year:

      • 2022: 123 athletes

      • 2023: 192 athletes

      • 2024: 225 athletes

      • 2025: 200 athletes

  • Ladies Intro to Trapshooting

    • First offered summer 2023 as a four-evening introductory series.

  • Summer Leagues

    • Multiple summer league shooting options for youth, student athletes, and adult shooters each year (June–August).
